MySpace Boots Sex Predators

The social-networking behemoth is cooperating with law enforcement officials on the lookout for sex offenders, but will the cost of doing so be steep?

Is MySpace unsafe? Some state law-enforcement officials certainly think so, given a July 25 report that 29,000 registered sex offenders had created profiles on the world’s most popular social-networking site.

Comments: The BusinessWeek article asks a pretty silly question, “Is MySpace unsafe?” Of course MySpace is safe as long as your not sexually active or you don’t have a high speed internet connection. Oh yeah, you are safe if you still have a dial up connection as you would not be in danger because you would fall asleep before one of those horriffic media ridden web pages finally loads.

MySpace has a younger member base as opposed to a Facebook which has an older and more affluent member base. Does that have anything to do with the fact that MySpace members are mostly there to “hook up”. No, but it makes me sound smart. You can do that anywhere, but MySpace does come off as trashy when there are fifteen year old girls half naked sprawled across their pages. So kudos to MySpace.

In any case, pervs busted is a good thing.
