Opinion: That Teresa says the wackiest things

Will Teresa be the first First Lady to slap a cop?

So now that Rather Gate has drowned the swifties and bubbled up to an apology, old media attention will return to the normal things of election life like the stupidity of George W., trying to portrait Kerry as the new JFK, and the Presidential nominees’ wives not to mention the absolute failure of Iraq – but that’s a different story.

Laura Bush’s approval ratings lead over Teresa Heinz Kerry (seventy-two per cent, according to a poll taken by the Los Angeles Times, to thirty-five per cent). People trust Laura. On the other hand, it is not really rocket science to figure out why Teresa lags in likability with even democrats.

“A girl must marry for love, and keep on marrying until she finds it” -Zsa Zsa

After being arrested and charged Zsa Zsa Gabor got bad press for slapping a police officer during a traffic stop. It was her own actions that caused her to come off as snobbish and distant.

Enter Teresa. Teresa has called her critics “scumbags”, told a reporter covering a speech “shove it“, calling voters “idiots” who are skeptical of her husband’s health-care ideas, “They want four more years of hell” to describe Bush supporters, and “Let them go naked” concerning support for hurricane victims. I’m sure more linguistic wackiness will ensue.

In defense of the “shove it” comment or order. Tad Devine Kerry advisor said Teresa Heinz Kerry “tells it like it is.” John F. Kerry said that his wife “speaks her mind appropriately.” Hillary said, “a lot of Americans will say, ‘Good for you — you go, girl.’ And certainly that’s how I feel about it” according to CNN. You go girl?

Media folks say that if she was a man there would be no issue or she’s just naïve. But in reality, no one likes a loud mouth or a snob and she finds herself in an unfavorable light because of her own behavior. Let’s just imagine what would happen if Laura talked like that… would it still be naïvety or would it be Texas arrogance?
