Political Sticks and Stones

There is an ongoing battle between the Democrats and Republicans. America is divided. Democrats want an immediate withdrawal of forces from Iraq and most Republicans want to withdrawal when there is stability. What’s the right thing to do? The answer won’t be found with Senators and wanne be presidential candidates acting like children.

In years past circa WWII foreign policy disagreements stopped at our shoreline. Whether your party won or my party won, we were still both American and still united. Now, you are damned if you do or damned if you don’t.

Something we learned (at least I did) was a child was that name calling doesn’t work well. On the Republican side I can’t really recall a time where Republicans compared Bill Clinton to Mao or whatever. Yet everyday in increasing frequency there are stories where our own citizens wish harm to our own President. Comparisons to Nazi Germany or Hitler are in no short supply even in our own government. They latest was John W. Olver Democrat of Massachusetts (above picture) saying of his opponents “They are nihilists. They are jihadists.” Give me a break. Welcome to crazy world.

What a waste of time. I mean seriously, work together. Is that so hard? So you disagree so do most folks in the private sector, but we still get it done. So my message is pretty simple – get it done or get out of politics. I think we can all get united behind that.
