Since the attacks on September 11, 2001, there has been much talk about improving security. Whether it comes in the form of a fence along our borders or a screening at the airport, security efforts and rhetoric have certainly risen on the list of America’s priorities. Because of the heightened concern over keeping America safe, it’s amazing to think the federal government would put management of major U.S. ports in the hands of foreign companies.
