Moonbats strikeback
We give thanks for our lives. We give thanks for our friends and families, for our health, our work and the little things. In order to “give thanks” that implies someone receiving the thanks. If it were up to the left in America it wouldn’t be a who but a what that receives the thanks.
A lot of people from my generation don’t know that Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks to God as the holiday name implies. This isn’t right-wing nut job talk, unless believe George Washington a right-wing nut job.
“Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor — and whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me “to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness.” -George Washington proclaimed in 1789
Have you ever read this in a history book? In all probability you haven’t and it wouldn’t surprise me because I didn’t either.
The left is on a mission. A mission from a secular and diverse atheist multi-ethnic deity that wipes away any trace of our heritage as Americans and belief in Judeo-Christian God. Don’t ask me why because I don’t know.
What I can say is there is only one logical destination to their (the lefts) journey to erase God and that is that we would thank the state. Thank the state for your job. Thank the state for your wife and child. I got a new station wagon — thank the state. I bearly missed getting hit by a bus — thank the state I didn’t.
Here are some of the latest attacks on God:
ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Maryland public school students are free to thank anyone they want while learning about the 17th century celebration of Thanksgiving (search) — as long as it’s not God.And that is how it should be, administrators say.More from FOXNews.com
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – A California teacher has been barred by his school from giving students documents from American history that refer to God — including the Declaration of Independence. More from Reuters
It’s important that people respect the heritage of others, the left would agree only if that applies to everybody but the Christian believers.
You can’t erase God from history or the future.

Agreed; the religious aspects of historical events should be taught in schools – dispassionately, as *history*. If people choose to worship a deity, that’s absolutely fine, so long as they don’t oblige others to do so. I don’t have any party political axe to grind, but I genuinely don’t see a role for religious *practice* or promotion in schools. That’s not anti-christian, anti-muslim, or even anti-religion, just pro-secularism. That’s not suppression of any one religion (unlike the Maryland and LA examples you cited, which I agree are ludicrous), it’s equal treatment for all religions (yes, including atheism), and separation of private practice (which is absolutely fine) from state sponsorship or suppression.
If you want to worship a Judeo-christian deity, that’s your choice, and I fully support your right to do so. I also think children should be told about christianity, as one of several, equally-valid options, but not as *the* truth. The state shouldn’t have a role in making that decision for children.
agreed!
You can’t erase the fact that the fore Fathers were Christian believers.
